How to get to the Campus of the University of Vienna

Arriving by train
Most probably you will arrive at one of Vienna's two main train stations, either at the Vienna Western Train Station (Westbahnhof) or at the Vienna Southern Train Station (Südbahnhof).

From Westbahnhof to Vienna University
Take Tramway 5 (heading to Praterstern) to Lange Gasse (approx.15 minutes)
or
Take underground U6 (heading to Floridsdorf) to Alser Straße; change to Tramway 43 (heading to Schottentor) and alight at the 3rd stop: Lange Gasse (approx. 20 minutes).

From Südbahnhof to Vienna University
Take Tramway D (heading to Nussdorf/Beethovengang) to Schottentor. Change to Tramway 43 or 44 and alight at the 2nd stop: Lange Gasse (approx. 35 minutes)
or
Take one of the commuter trains (S-Bahn) direction Wien Nord, to Praterstern. Change to underground U2 (heading to Karlsplatz) to Schottentor. Change to Tramway 43 or 44 and alight at the 2nd stop: Lange Gasse (approx. 30 minutes).

Arriving by plane
From Vienna International Airport to Vienna University
There are currently two train connections from Vienna International Airport to the City; the S7 train (S-Bahn; which usually runs every 30 minutes, ticket € 3,40) and the City Airport Train (which is faster, but more expensive, single-ticket € 9).

Take one of the trains to Landstrasse (Wien Mitte). Change to underground U4 (heading to Heiligenstadt) and alight at Schottenring. Change to underground U2 (heading to Karlsplatz) and alight at Schottentor, change to Tramway 43 or 44 and alight at the 2nd stop: Lange Gasse (approx. 50 minutes).

Arriving by car
Motorways leading to Vienna are the
A1/E60 (Westautobahn, from Germany, Salzburg, Linz),
A2/E59 (Südautobahn, from Italy, Klagenfurt, Graz),
A3 (Südostautobahn, from Hungary),
A4 (Ostautobahn, from Hungary) and
A4/A6/E58 (Nordostautobahn, from Bratislava (under construction)).
From the north, B7/E461 and B303/E59 are the main travel routes.
